Key steps in the essay writing process

1. Unpick the question
   What exactly do you have to do? Brainstorm what you know. Decide what else to find out.
2. Read
   Make notes. Collect references.
3. Plan
   Plan your writing. Organise your notes.
4. Draft
   Introduction, main section, conclusion. Do reference list.
5. Edit
   Proofread for content. Proofread for spelling, grammar, etc. Ask someone else to proofread. Read aloud.
