Run Run Shaw Scholarship
In recognition of Sir Run Run Shaw’s reputation
as an internationally renowned producer and for his overall contribution
to the film industry, Napier University is awarding the Sir Run Run Shaw
Scholarship.
Awarded annually, this scholarship is available to one student per
year from Hong Kong to enable them to study a postgraduate course at
Screen Academy Scotland. The scholarship covers the full course fees
for one year’s
attendance on either the MA Screenwriting, MA Screen Project Development
or MFA Advanced Film Practice.
In order to be considered for the Sir Run Run Shaw Scholarship you must have
applied and been accepted to one of the Screen Academy Scotland postgraduate
courses at Napier University. (Please note this Scholarship is not applicable
to Screen Academy Scotland courses at Edinburgh College of Art)
Process for Awarding the Sir Run Run Shaw Scholarship
• Students apply to Screen Academy Scotland at Napier
University as normal (please see Courses for
details) in time for closing date of 30th June 2010.
• Applications are assessed by Screen Academy Scotland
and applicants are informed if they have been accepted onto their course
• Applicants who are accepted onto a course are eligible
for information on scholarships and bursaries available to Screen Academy
Scotland students
• Screen Academy Scotland identifies which of the
International Students they would recommend as recipients of the Sir Run
Run Shaw Scholarship, based on:
-the quality of the application and if the applicant has potential to excel
in their course
-financial need of the student (if money is a barrier to them taking up a place
on the course)
