Our Research
Inter-disciplinary research cutting across academic, scientific and technical boundaries
Much of the research carried out to date has been inter-disciplinary, cutting across academic, scientific and technical boundaries within the built environment. This has allowed the CLC to work thematically on issues concerning the sustainability of urban development and the significance of ICTs in meeting the EU’s knowledge society objectives. This research successfully integrates much of the work that CLC staff have been engaged in over the last 5 years and offers the opportunity to progress further into the ‘learning cities’ initiative adopted by Europe, as the knowledge base for the sustainable development of communities. This is the thematic action the Centre for Learning Communities proposes to develop over the next 5 years.
